It’s Looping Eve!! And
we are beside ourselves with excitement!!
We have been steady busy since our return to Midway Marina on
Friday - moving, doing, checking…marking off “the list” of must-dos before cast
off! Whew!! We are as ready as ready can
be…
Sunday, October 23, 2016 – while most of you will be preparing
for Sunday School & church – Charlie and I will be headed south on the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Saturday morning we woke up to very dense fog but
by 7:45 other boats in the marina were headed to Fulton Lock. So our departure time will be determined
according to the fog.
Charlie spoke with the Fulton Lockmaster this
evening and it appears we have several barges (north & south) passing through
on Sunday. Of course, commercial traffic
has priority and the fog will determine barge travel as well. That’s fine with me – I’ll have time to
review “the list” while enjoying my coffee…I might even swipe on some lipstick!

Sweet Potato Coffee - a must have!! Thanks Bully!! |
Today everything became REAL!! We turned over our last mode of
transportation to Ronnie & Julie.
They will keep the old truck running until we return – it seemed strange
watching Ronnie drive off…one more thing off the list.

Bye old truck - not a cloud in the sky |
This evening we REALLY felt like Loopers – another marina
resident offered to drive us & another Looping couple into Fulton for
dinner. The kindness of others is always
around us – thanks Bob for being such a great neighbor!! We will miss you, your knowledge and
especially your jokes!! You are a
precious man!! Thanks for EVERYTHING!!
I couldn’t help but take a peek at Sunday’s personal devotion
– I’ve had this book for several years & it NEVER fails to provide exactly the
encouragement at just the right time.
Thank you Julie - the next 12 months of journal entries should be VERY
interesting! I love you!
It is late & I have a feeling that sleep will be fitful
but that’s ok…it’s Looping Eve!!
Rest well y’all! See ya on the water!!
Bon Voyage! Fair winds and following seas
