Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve - as the clock strikes 8:00PM!!

Welcome to 2017!!  Who knew we would celebrate in Fort Myers FL!!  What fun – though short lived…we were back on the boat by 9:15 and sound asleep shortly thereafter, completely normal.

Study & Research on The Lower Place

There has been much study and research on board The Lower Place over the past few days and it looks like we are bound for the Bahamas!!  Tomorrow we will leave Fort Myers and cross to the east coast (should take 3-4 days).  Once there (Lakeworth) we will have to take care of some paperwork with Customs and become weather watchers once again.  Because we will cross the Gulf Stream, it is very important the wind direction is anything but north, northeast or northwest during the 60 mile journey.  

We have one boat leaving with us on Monday to cross Florida, there are several boats already on the east coast – so we will have company for the adventure! YAY!!

Right now we are focused on The Abacos…although it may take us a couple weeks to get there – weather dictates travel!!!

Until then we will enjoy the time on the Okeechobee Waterway and anchoring in Lakeworth – will keep you updated!!
