|Even glued to their phones, my heart is full!!
We are back on the boat!! Yes, our trip home was shortened by a few days but we had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends! It was so good to see everyone healthy, happy and ready for warmer weather! Yes, we were blamed for the day-long rains, freezing temps and “chance of flurries” forecast but it was still a great week! Of course, currently we are experiencing clear sunny skies and temps in the mid 70’s…and yes, the boat is covered in pollen (grrrr).
In our absence we had some planned maintenance completed by Zack (local marine wizard) It was so nice to step on board Sunday afternoon and know the work was completed! Charlie has the skills to know what & how to do the tasks but he doesn’t have the 6’ arms & praying mantis-like build to complete the job…it’s worth every dime!!!
While Charlie waited for Zack Monday morning (the invoice was hand delivered) I took the opportunity to test drive my new running shoes with a much needed WALK throughout the area…4.6 miles later, I felt so much better AND the shoes are a keeper! Brooks/Transcend a fantastic substitute for the Newton/Motion I’m used to wearing but can no longer find. After a large cup of water I headed out via the rental car & complete some errands. Book store, post office (Mom, look for a package by Friday), Lowe’s, Publix – what fun!!!
Late Monday afternoon we slowed down and shifted gears to research and planning. Sometime this week we plan to leave Melbourne and head north…Titusville, St, Augustine, Jacksonville, Fernandina Beach and the St. John’s River are some of the spots we’d like to explore before leaving Florida. But heading north is the main goal…I’m ready to see something new! So let the studying begin…!!!
